New Years Eve

First we went to have dinner with friends.

Then off to the party in the park to watch the fireworks.

Alex enjoyed the fireworks.

But before too long it became obvious he wasn't going to make it all the way to midnight.

Class of 08 Get Together

Alex went to meet some old school friends at the pub last night.

He really enjoyed catching up with some people he hasn't seen in quite a while.

Christmas 2009

Alex had a good time over Christmas, seeing some of his family and friends.

There were some familiar and unfamiliar scenes...

Even some swimming in the rain for the exceptionally keen/ foolhardy.

Lots of food & drink- too much of course.

Birthday Celebration

We went out last night to a birthday celebration for our dear friend, Em.

Alex was in a party mood as you can see from the cheeky grin.

It was his kind of gathering- the 'hands-on' type. With lots of his very favourite people.

Who sing great songs. And any party that ends up with loud singing and table-thumping is fine by him!! If you're happy and you know it, you SHOULD clap your hands!

Family Lunch

Today we went down to the mountains for a lunch with the extended family. We won't all be together for Christmas this year as usual, so we had a catch up over lunch before Christmas Day.

As usual, Alex had a great time catching up with all of his extended family.

'Team Alex' farewell for Kat

Alex's team of fabulous people gathered together last night for an end of year celebration and to farewell the wonderful Kat, who's moving at the end of the week.

As usual, all valiant efforts to entice Alex to eat the food there failed but our sociable young man enjoyed what dinner is really all about... the people.

It was a nice way to say farewell to the uni students going on break at the end of the week, to have a chat about Alex's life and experiences this year and to get the chance to say how much we've appreciated Kat's input into Alex's life so far. As a valued CollaborArtist, she will continue to help out in the art department!

Taking the new wheelchair for a spin

Alex went out in the new wheelchair to see Aash's artwork on display.

Such a clever artist she is! We tried to get arty taking photos of the drawings with Alex and artist in the reflection, but you can see for yourself how successful that was!

The wheelchair is going well. Seems comfy so far.

Wonder if it had anything to do with Alex's record bowling score of 130 last week?
