CollaborArt is an initiative to allow Alex to take up valued roles in his community. His effort is supported by a team of 'CollaborArtists' who help mount, collage, frame and package his original work.
Alex produces spray paintings, collaged stamped art, greeting cards and gift tags. These are available at occasional community markets, shopping centre stalls held periodically and through a number of local commercial outlets.
The art work allows Alex to get out and about in his community, buying art materials, supplying his work to the shops that stock them, manning his stalls, banking cheques and so on. We think this is a much more valuable use of his time than many of the usual options available for people with high support needs.
